We appreciate your cooperation. Thank you for keeping our children safe and happy!
If you must burn, do not burn in the street-it damages the asphalt (City ordinance).

From the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development: Giant hogweed has already been detected in many counties across Michigan. Giant Hogweed is a public health hazard that ranks up there higher than poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac in respect to its potential to harm humans. The reason for concern is that the sap from this plant can cause a severe skin reaction known as photo-dermatitis or photo-sensitivity. The reaction can happen up to 48 hours after contact. If you have seen a plant that appears to be Giant Hogweed and need help identifying it, send an email to, along with any pictures, so that it can be examined by professional staff of MDARD.  (Please e-mail four pictures:  1. Whole plant, 2. Leaf, 3. Flower/seed head, 4. Where a leaf joins the stem.)                                                                                                                                     You can also call 1-800-292-3939. Cell Phones for Soldiers

What types of cell phones Are accepted?

We will accept any type of cell phone. Gently-used cellular devices from any carrier are preferred to broken or dated devices. Proceeds are still generated from the recycling of broken and dated devices, however, the charity benefits most from recent, functioning phones. Batteries, chargers, SIM cards and accessories are not required.

What happens to the cell phones?

The cell phones are sold to a company that recycles them. The money obtained for the phones is used to purchase calling cards and free phone service for deployed and returning military personnel.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Cell Phones For Soldiers is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) company. It makes no determination of the tax value of your donation. Please consult a tax advisor. Click on the graphic above for a donation receipt.
